Regionally Speaking is the virtual component of the Western Reserves Studies Symposium, which seeks to advance and explore the distinctive aspects of Ohio’s Western Reserve. This includes a series of programs moderated by Gladys Haddad, Professor of American Studies and Director of the Western Reserve Studies Symposium. Now in its fourth season, Regionally Speaking is discussing the role of Case Western Reserve University’s Social Justice Institute in developing partnerships with the Greater Cleveland community. SJI’s debut collaborative is the East Cleveland Project. How did this partnership develop? What are the challenges for economic redevelopment in East Cleveland, and how will SJA/I bridge the gap between University Circle and East Cleveland ? A path breaking conference planned for November 19-20 on “Social Justice, Race, and Profiling: An Intergenerational Think Tank” at the University is currently featured.
