HESSLER STREET FAIR THIS WEEKEND!
by The Spektron
5/18/2010
WRUW will broadcast and Webcast the Hessler Street Fair in its entirety Saturday May 22 and Sunday May 23 from Noon til Dusk. The Hessler Street Fair is an annual community arts and music festival, celebrating its 41st year on historic Hessler Street in Cleveland's University Circle, just across the street from the WRUW studios. It is a family-friendly event, showcasing local artists, food, musicians and poets. The Hessler Street Fair is one of Cleveland's most successful street festivals, attracting upwards of 10,000 visitors each year. Running from 11am to dusk, Saturday and Sunday, it features a diverse mixture of musical styles and venues, and is a non-profit, volunteer-run weekend, focused on celebrating community, arts and culture.
The Hessler Street Fair is also the primary fund-raiser for the Hessler Neighborhood Association (HNA). The HNA, in turn, uses these funds to help preserve and maintain the Hessler Road neighborhood. The Hessler Street Fair promotes a spirit of togetherness and care-free fun in a home-grown atmosphere of family-friendly entertainment.
